Interventional Cardiologist Specializing in Complex Structural Heart, Coronary and Peripheral Interventions opens office in Hialeah
Hialeah, Fla. – July 15, 2019 – Marquand Patton, Jr., DO, an interventional cardiologist specializing in catheter-based treatment of heart disease and cardiac ailments, has joined Tenet Florida Physician Services (TFPS) and opened his office in Hialeah, FL. Dr. Patton’s areas of interest include: patent foramen ovale PFO closure, paravalvular leak closure, cardiogenic shock and complex coronary and peripheral interventions. Dr. Patton is on-staff at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL.
Dr. Patton completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Alleghany Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, Dr. Patton finished a residency in internal medicine followed by a cardiovascular disease fellowship where he served as chief fellow at Palmetto General Hospital. He graduated medical school from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ.
Dr. Patton is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) for vascular sonography interpretation ultrasound. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Nuclear Cardiology, the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT) and the Adult Echocardiography-National Board of Echocardiography. He is board-eligible in Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Intervention.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Patton has participated in numerous cardiovascular conferences and courses, nationally as well as here in Florida. He has published several abstracts, publications and made presentations on cardiac ailments, heart procedures and echocardiography including: Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics 2019: ASD Occluded Used as a Bailout for Posterior Transseptal Puncture During Mitra-Clip Complicated by Tamponade, Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention 2019: Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty in a Patient with Known Left Apical Thrombus, Miami Valves 2018 Case Presentations: Alternate Access Mitra-Clip; Transapical Mitral Valve Replacement; Single Leaflet Detachment and First Experience with Mitra-Clip NT. In addition, Dr. Patton participated in a Live Case Broadcast of a Watchman procedure during ARCH conference in 2018.
Dr. Patton is proficient in 3D Transesophageal Echo for structural heart disease and heart valve evaluation. In 2017 and 2018, Dr. Patton was Clinical Instructor, Department of Internal Medicine at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Health Professions Division.
Dr. Patton has been a member of the American College of Cardiology since 2015. Dr. Patton is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, Society for Vascular Medicine, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American College of Physicians, National Lipid Association, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Internists and Nova Southeastern University OPTI. He has been practicing medicine since 2012.
